Yoga, which is becoming increasingly popular for teenagers, is all about balance, strength, and harmony. Not only is yoga good for you physically, but it promotes relaxation and an overall sense of well being. Bring a yoga mat.

West Islip Student Film Festival

Please join us for an evening enjoying the creative efforts of West Islip’s own high school student filmmakers. The festival seeks to inspire talented young filmmakers to pursue their passion as well as share their work with the community. Refreshments will be served. If you have a short film that you would like to be shown at this event please contact Mrs. Fowler at the Adult Reference Desk no later than Friday, May 21, 2010.

Spa Slumber Party
Wednesday, June 2

Come in your pajamas and bring your pillow! Learn how to treat yourself to some of the finest skin treatment. Discussions will include sun damage and acne. Each participant gets to cleanse tone and moisturize their face correctly. Light refreshments will be served.

Teens Night Out: Design Your Own Clock!

A perfect present for Dad or that special someone who is always running late – make a unique, working clock! Bring your friends for this hour of crafting and fun. (Since we will be using paint, please wear an old t-shirt or `something you don’t mind getting paint on.)

Regents Review Class in Living Environment: Biology
Mondays, June 7 & 14
7-9PM

Fee is $50 per student made payable to Lizabeth Tumminello
This class will consist of two sessions and will be taught by an experienced, NYS Certified Living Environment: Biology teacher. The purpose of the class will be to help students review for and study for the NYS Regents Exam. Course topics and required lab experiments will be covered through review sheets and practice questions. Students will receive review materials and handouts.

Regents Review Class in Physical Setting: Chemistry
Tuesdays, June 8 & 15
7-9PM
Fee is $50 per student made payable to Lizabeth Tumminello
This class will consist of two sessions and will be taught by an experienced, NYS Certified Physical Setting: Chemistry Teacher. The purpose of the class will be to help students review for and study for the NYS Regents Exam. Course topics will be covered through review sheets and practice questions. Students will receive review materials and handouts.

This class will consist of two sessions and will be taught by an experienced, NYS Certified Math Teacher. The purpose of the class will be to help students review for and study for the NYS Regents Exam. Course topics will be covered through review sheets and practice questions. Saturday, June 12
10:00 – 2:00 PM

Fee is $50 per student made payable to Chris Murphy
This class will consist of one four-hour session and will be taught by an experienced, NYS Certified Math Teacher. The purpose of the class will be to help students review for and study for the NYS Regents Exam. Course topics will be covered through review sheets and practice questions. Students will receive review materials and handouts.

Teens & Tweens Volunteer: Project Pillow
On August 25th West Islip teens and tweens got together and made tie pillows to be donated to Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. These pillows will be given to bring comfort to children in the hospital. We had over 40 volunteers who made 100 pillows!
